Many sports hunters dream of possessing their own hunting land, but they do not find it easy to purchase sites simply because they either do not have enough money or they cannot find land where they can harvest a rich haul.
Well, if you are one of those lucky ones who can pay for a hunting land of your own, you could probably do with some guidance on how to go about purchasing a site–
(1) The first thing to do is to find sites that have been put up for sale. You will have to spend some time in investigation–where are the sites located, how big is each land, and do the prices asked for fall within your budget range or not?
(2) Sometimes large wooded grounds are within reach of the city, that is, they are within traveling distance. The owners have the intention of selling their lands to developers; so they put high prices on this sort of acreage. You would do better to search for areas beyond these woods if the prices do not seem affordable. The price of each acre of land is reasonably lower there. True, it is not easy to commute to these remote places for a day’s hunting trip, but weekend sojourns are possible.
(3) In case you can afford to pay the demanded price for a wooded acreage close to the city since it is a good hunting location, go for it! As a matter of fact, the owner is not actually planning to sell it as hunting land, but you are welcome to do a little scouting of your own. There is no harm in enquiring whether hunting has taken place on this land previously. If so, was the harvest rich or poor? If hunting as an activity has never been practiced on this particular land, search for other wooded areas in the same locality where hunting has yielded a good haul. You’ll also get the opportunity to hunt with the best crossbows from best crossbow.
(4) Hunting clubs are another option since they already own hunting lands and have been using them for quite some time. If these lands are put up for sale, check out the record of harvests over the previous years. Is there much game left for you to hunt or not? Should the owners boast of having had rich hauls earlier, find out how much of the stock has been depleted. After all, overhunting is quite a common trend!
In case you do decide to purchase a hunting land from these clubs, then you will have to patiently stay on hold for a few seasons before you can actually start stalking game. The advantage is that the owners may agree to selling the hunting land for a reasonable price under these circumstances.
(5) A final option is to partner with a friend. Since hunting land does not come cheap, both of you can split the price. Only get someone who shares the same interest in hunting as you, so that you have a partner in ownership as well as a partner for hunting!
